Work by Ntaozake Shange

A “choreopoem”, Shange’s emotional yet powerful work expresses many struggles and obstacles the African-American women may face throughout their lives in poetry, music and dance. It is a representation of sisterhood and coming-of-age as seven women of color weave together finding unity in their shared stories.
